This is a teaser to my up-and-coming werewolf story "Zefenoria" which I am currently re-wrighting. I'm getting closer to the half way mark, and so I decided to post the introduction to wet your apetite and see how you like it. I will be posting the full story on here. Eventualy lol.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is the year 3011. Earth has long since been uninhabitable because of all the pollution humans have created there over the centuries and mass radiation leaking from outer space that slowly destroyed the earth in what is now documented as the “Electric Funeral”. Our story begins on a distant planet, in the Pegasus constellation, discovered around the middle of the last millennium. This planet is twice as big as earth, but with a much slower rotation so the gravity isn’t much different. The physical environment of this planet is similar to earth, only on a much larger scale. Most of the planet is either covered in large landmasses with grassland and forest, with no ice caps at the poles and very few actual desserts. This planet is known as Zefenoria. And with the move to other planets, mankind brought along its ancient creatures of Legend which mankind once believed to be only myth. On this planet, the most abundant of which are Were-creatures and Demons.
Were-creatures have now been accepted into society because most of them have found a way of controlling there forms. In the Northeastern hemisphere, Werewolves are most abundant, because there is always a full moon in the sky. This is only possible because of the angle of 4 moons that circle Zefenoria constantly reflect the light directly off one another, so at this point on the planet the moon always appears full. Whole families of Werewolves live there, the children of which must be taught to control their wolf forms from an early age. In most legends about werewolves, the site of a full moon would cause the sudden and uncontrollable transformation. While this would be true for the most inexperienced werewolves, once they have been taught how to control their transformation as a child, the moon merely gives a spiritual and moral boost allowing them to fight better. This is most true in a town in the centre of the hemisphere known as “Lycanthrocove”. One problem that plagues Lycanthrocove is demons. Some of the adult Werewolves in this town have to regularly battle demons because it is strait above a rift leading to hell. One of the key portals in this lift lies in the dense Formorain forest. If this portal were left unchecked, then it would put the entire civilisation at great risk. The main families that battle this threat in Lycanthrocove make a top priority out of keeping this portal secret, because if it wasn’t, it could cause mass panic and as a result, lead to a mass rush of demons ready to take advantage of the hysteria. Children are advised to stay out of the forest ware the portal lies for their own safety, but you and I both know not all kids listen to the voice of reason.
Out of the key were-families that lived in this town, two siblings who had already mastered their powers as werewolves regularly sneak out and provide a key action to the defence of the town. The reason for this being, the adults are quite over protective of their children in order to ensure their survival in these dangerous times. These two siblings have developed have developed a mysterious sixth sense that allows them to sense the activity of the portal and exact whereabouts that the demons will appear. Despite this ability being a huge help to the towns’ survival, the siblings had to keep this power and absolute secret because if the adults found out, they would never be able to use their powers to help the town again. Considering how over-protective the adults are, they would never believe that they have fully mastered their powers and would be a great help.
Now you may think you know everything that you need to know about werewolves. But the werewolves, and in fact, all were creatures of Zefenoria have their own unique abilities that are as different in the exact way they work as your fingerprints. The two siblings are no exception. Kestrel, the elder sibling at fifteen years of age, sports huge eagle-like wings from her back, which she uses to climb to great altitudes, swooping down or dive-bombing onto her opponent. Pyro, the younger sibling at thirteen years old, on the other hand, has a very different style of combat. In his wolf form, he grows huge claws of bone sharper than the edge of a freshly welded katana. But this is not his only trait. He also lives up to his name by being able to manipulate fire around his claws and hands, using them like white-hot gloves, burning through flesh and muscle.
The town of Lycanthrocove it’s self at first glance looks Farley primitive. Long wooden houses slink around the edge of the forest, with small interconnecting back allies every now and again. The streets are wide with enough space to accommodate a road in the centre, two tramlines either side with a pedestrian area on the far sides.
Looking closer at the town, the true technological and engineering achievements begin to show. The buildings are re-enforced at key points with deuterium so they can withstand the sometimes-prolonged harsh weather that the planet can whip up. The streets are laid out with barlum; a soft yet strong material that is cheap to produce occurs naturally and can provide needed grip for the vehicles that travel across it. The rails for the tramway are also made of deuterium while the sleepers that are embedded in the road are made from the durable wood that is found on this planet. The vehicles and locomotives themselves that pull the trains have changed in physical appearance very little from the ones we know today. However, the key difference is that carbo-electric engines power them all. The carbo-electric engines converts the secreted substance that are naturally found in trees all across the planet into fuel that produces a huge electric current that, depending on the quantity, can efficiently power any vehicle in almost any method necessary.
The reason for this mix and match technology is that when this world was fully colonised, the government passed a law stating that to preserve this planet as long as possible, all new towns must use the most amount of sustainable natural resources possible without compromising safety. There couldn’t have been an easier planet to put forward this act on. For humans and weres alike, this planet is full of planet natural resources that can be produced sustainable and also suit the needs of the daily functions of almost everything needed to lead a normal way of life. So because of all this, brining global harm is no longer a problem.

Note: I apologise that it is not double spaced. It would be alot to double space if I did, so just stick with it for now .
